A question, more than a comment. What is the source of the attribution that she is a Lieutenant?
Further research suggests this is the 'Katie White', of Corporation St, who was an 'active member of the Salvation Army' and who died in 1890, aged 22. (Aber Observer 1/2/1890)

The details are from the reverse of the photograph, written in the same hand as the member of NLW staff who accessioned the photograph in July 1987. The donor was a Reverend Parry from Port Talbot, presumably the source of the information.
