Iguanodon thumb spike

Description

Replica of a fossil Iguanodon thumb spike. Plant eating dinosaurs like Iguanodon used their claws to defend themselves from predators. Early interpretations of the skeleton put this thumb spike on the animal's nose! The spike is 14 cm long. This item is held at National Museum Cardiff.
