Reconstruction of a living ammonite. There were other plants and animals living at the time of the dinosaurs. By looking at their fossils we can build up a picture of what the world was like when the dinosaurs were alive. Ammonites are a group of molluscs that are some of the most common fossils in Jurassic and Cretaceous rocks but are now extinct. They are related to modern octopus, squid and cuttlefish. This item is held at National Museum Cardiff.
