Marine Life on the Wreck of the CARTAGENA : Aperture in the Deck for the Funnel

Description

The marine life found on the CARTAGENA is dominated by filter-feeding plumnose anemones. The plumose anemone captures food from the water with its tentacles. The food largely comprises zooplankton such as copepods and the larvae of other species.

This photograph reveals the clusters of anemones that were found around the aperture that leads down into the boiler room. The ship’s funnel once stood tall from this location on the vessel.
