Collection of Victorian architectural drawings by R G Thomas

A collection of architectural drawings by the Newport architect R.G. Thomas (1820 - 1883).

Thomas was an architect and engineer who spent most of his life in Australia, having emigrated from Britain in 1836. He returned to Britain in 1846, where he remained for a period of 15 years, most of which were spent in Newport. During this time he was involved in numerous diverse building projects ranging from a drainage system for a housing estate to designs for cottages and villas and from shop-fronts to schools, churches and town halls.
