William John Roberts (1906-1982)
W. J. Roberts (William John, Pant, to his contemporaries) was a native of Bethesda, Gwynedd. He worked at Penrhyn Quarry, Bethesda, from 1920 until 1939, when he joined the RAF. He returned to the Quarry in 1945, working there until 1953. When he retired in 1970, he recorded his memories and experiences of the Quarry, and also of social life in the Ogwen Valley.
The manuscript is in two files, which also contain - as part of the text - a number of sketches explaining the text.
