Peter Latham (1929-2024). National Service. British Army, Machynlleth
Peter Latham recalls his career in the British Army with accompanying photographs. Lieutenant Colonel Peter Latham spent his entire career in the British Army. Born in Wolverhampton in 1929, he entered the Army initially as a National Serviceman, before transferring to the Regular Army and becoming a Commissioned Officer. Peter completed two tours of duty in Hong Kong, and undertook operational postings to Kenya, Germany, as well as the UK. After thirty-four years of service, Peter retired from the Army. He and his wife, Sheila have lived alongside the Dyfi Estuary for over forty years, a move they have never regretted making.
