Traveling with Margaret were her three children with George Simcox (Elizabeth, John Morgan and Mathilda) and the three children of David James (Ann, Sarah Jane, and Joseph (possibly Job?)).It is assumed that David was already in the United States at this time, although no travel or immigration documentats have been found to confirm this.

After arriving in Philadelphia on the 15th, Margaret had a memorial card for her first husband George Simcox made there. She then traveled across the state to Pittsburgh where she and David James were married on the 19th, four days after her arrival.
