'Tales of Pengarnddu' - Life in a South Wales Mining Village
Description
Pengarnddu was built in the mid-nineteenth century to house the workers of the Dowlais works and their families. Although the only clue to its former location is now the sign on the road leading to Asda at 'Dowlais Top' it had a rich history for more than 100 years. This book is based on the memories of family members and others who lived there, painting a picture of a close-knit, hard-working community which developed its own unique features and customs.
