19th Century Baptisms in the Mons & Brecon Canal at Llanfoist
Description
Converts to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints are received into the church through baptism by immersion. In the 19th century these baptisms were often performed in rivers, but canals offered more reliably deep but still water. There is ample evidence of LDS baptisms in the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal and here the author tries to identify the possible location near Llanfoist.
