Barry Island Bus Park
Description
The Bus Park at Barry Island in the late 1920s.
Buses with solid and pneumatic tyres came down from the South Wales Valleys on day trips to Barry Island. The operators included Gough, Bassetts, Dowlais Motor Services, Imperial from Abercynon and Baynham from Ross.
Drivers can be seen in their vehicles taken a well earned rest after a difficult and slow journey to the coast.
The photograph was scanned from the original Wellington Extra Speedy Quarter Plate.
