WW2 Veterans in Wales recall their recollections of the Battle of Britain 1940.

Description

This is an audio version of the short video film produced by the West Wales Veterans Archive for the launch of the RAF's 'Wales and the Battle of Britain Exhibition' held in the National Library of Wales, Aberystwyth. This launch took place on 20th April, 2022.

The recording features five WW2 veterans speaking about the memories of the period: Tony Bird (Freshwater East), Pauline Penrose (Llechryd), Dennis Tidswell (Pembroke Dock), John Martin (Tanygroes), and Ted Owens (Pembroke Dock). All five veterans served in the Armed Forces during WW2 and their own stories can be found on the West Wales Veterans Archive.

Tony Bird and Ted Owens attended the launch in the National Library of Wales on 20th April, 2022. A series of photos taken at the launch can also be found on the West Wales Veterans Archive.

Filming and interview with Tony, Ted, Pauline and Ted was undertaken by Hugh Morgan, Veterans Coordinator, Age Cymru Dyfed.

The clip featuring Ted Owens was provided by Greg Lewis.
