The original of this Timber Bob was used at Timothy's Timber Yard in Ton Pentre. Model scale 1" to 1 ft, measured from the original at St Fagans. Census records 1881 to 1911 show James Timothy as a Timber merchant residing at Sawmill Villas, Pentre. The Timber Bob would be used to move felled logs around the yard to the sawmill.
