Wedding of Harry, aged 22, and Betty, aged 18. The photograph was taken 29th January 1942 outside the south porch of St Catherine’s Church. Able Seaman Harry Griffiths returned to his ship the day after the wedding to resume his wartime service and was decorated for bravery. Harry and Betty went on to become landlords of the ‘Forresters Arm’s, Cowbridge Road and had four children together.They were the grandparents of Paul Careless, Landlord of the ‘Robin Hood,’ Canton.
