Hawarden village welcomes the Olympic Torch (2012)
Description
The year 2012 was an "Olympic" year and the village of Hawarden in North Wales played it's part as a staging-post for a ceremonial torch hand-over between runners on their way to the stadium in London. As the day opened with clear skies and sunshine, the streets soon filled with local families eager to find a good vantage spot and a shared determination to lend energy and support to a unique spectacle as a once-in-a-lifetime event played out before their eyes! Truly a memorable day!
