This is a narrative that accompanies a short film of an interview with Mr John Biggs of west Wales. John joined the 3rd Carabineers, Prince of Wales Dragoon Guards band in 1959 and served for six years. The majority of John's service occurred when the regiment was based at Detmold in then West Germany. In the interview John talks about his life in the band and reflects upon Music in the British Army in those six years. The narrative that offers some background to John's story. Some photographs of the band can be seen in the John Biggs Military Musician collection at the West Wales Veterans Archive on the Peoples Collection Wales website.
