This is a copy of an original photograph in the possession of RAF Veteran Nigel Hopkins and pictures the Royal Navy ship D53 HMS Diamond at anchor in Cardigan Bay off Aberystwyth. The ship was visiting Aberystwyth and took part in the fleet review to celebrate the coronation of HM Queen Elizabeth second. Nigel was only a young child at the time but was interested in the image in later life, having become an RAF Photographer and was from Aberystwyth. Nigel's memoirs of his service in the RAF, supported my photographs, can be viewed on line in the Nigel Hopkins RAF collection at the West Wales Veterans Archive on the Peoples Collection Wales website.
