HRH Prince Charles first visited the construction work at Soar. With few financial resources the renovation of Soar had begun mainly through the Job Creation programme. One experienced person working with unemployed young people.  We also had the support of the Princes Trust to fund this work and lead to the visit by the Prince of Wales.

The construction of a new floor relied on the voluntary contribution of one of our first supporters - Ralph Benjamin. He was an experienced steel fabricator and worked for months on the fabrication of the new first floor.
