These photographs belong to Royal Air Force Veteran Mervyn Rees of Saundersfoot, Pembrokeshire. Mervyn completed 2 years National Service in the 1950's as a driver and technician. The majority of his service was undertaken at the UK military base on Christmas Island, when the nuclear weapon testing programme was underway. This set of original photographs ,offers a picture into the military base and some of the RAF personnel serving on the base, including Mervyn.
