Letter from Captain G. J. Trewren to F. A. Legg, 10 April 1863 [image 1 of 2]

Description

Captain Trewren writes to inform F. A. Legg that nearly all the miners returned to work that morning, with the exception of the men who are at the centre of the dispute and who refused their bargains. It is noted that these miners have 'stationed' themselves in various parts of the mine in a bid to prevent the Cornishmen from entering the mine. Trewren notes that the miners have 'threatened to kill them [the Cornishmen] if they come here to work again'.
