Newport County Borough Police insignia
Description
A collar / epaulette badge that would have been worn on the tunic of a senior officer (Inspector and above) of the former Newport County Borough Police. Very rare by the fact that it is made of silver. Most insignia for the rank and file was in a base metal. Newport is now part of what is the Gwent Police area. Part of the Ross Mather Police Insignia of Wales Collection
