Stooper Mill in Pembrokeshire: ‘Mormon’ meeting place in the 19th century
Description
Stooper Mill sat on Brandy Brook north of Roch, Pembrokeshire, one of four mills using the water of the brook to drive the mill wheel and grind corn. It has since been demolished. However in the mid-19th century it was registered as a place of worship for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints - the 'dissenters' otherwise known as 'Mormons' or 'Latter Day Saints.'
