Description
In this third and final audio recording of an interview with World War Two Veteran Bruce McCay, we hear Bruce's account of the battle near Wittlhoe in Germany in April 1945, which resulted in B company taking several casualties, including Bruce, who was received a bullet wound in his foot. He shares his memories of the action, his subsequent recovery and then becoming ill, which led to his repatriation to the UK. Finally Bruce gives a short account of his return to Germany in 1947 with 1WRF. The first and second audios, along with a narrative account of his war, photographs and sketches Bruce made, can be viewed online in the Bruce McCay collection at the West Wales Veterans Archive on the Peoples Collection Wales website. *** Caution - this audio contains descriptions of battle which some listenners may find upsetting.
