This is a collection of material which records the service career of British Army Veteran Bruce McCay of South Gwynedd. Bruce served with the Royal Welch Fusiliers, joining up with the 7th battalion in Holland in February 1945. Bruce remained with 7 RWF as it advanced through Holland into Germany.Bruce was shot and injured during a battle after crossing the river Aller.
He survived the injury and re joined H company 7 RWF after hostilities had ended. Viewers can read his story in this collection and listen to his recollections. The audio content is difficult to understand at times, as Bruce was 99 years of age when talking about his wartime experiences and managing a hearing impediment. Viewers will see a collection of sketches Bruce has made, which give a unique insight into the images of his war.
