Llandybie Mock Mayor frivolities, Carmarthenshire, c.1953
Description
The mock mayor frivolities were held in Llandybie every boxing day, taking place in the various village pubs. Whoever drank the most was crowned 'mayor', dressed in mayoral clothing and rode on a horse or a horse and cart.
These photographs were taken by Douglas Davies in 1953, 1954 and 1956.
