This photograph was provided by Mr Ernie Hughes, who served as a Firefighter in the RAF at RAF Eastleigh in the mid 1950s. RAF Eastleigh Fire section attended aircraft crashes throughout Kenya and were also involved in recovering damaged aircraft. Ernie and his colleagues are working on the recovery of a wrecked Avro Lincoln aircraft from 49 squadron that crashed during the Kenyan emergency.
