This is a photograph supplied by Mr Stephen Walters, who was an RAF airman serving in Aden when he took this image. Stephen points out the barrels surrounding the aircraft, which were full of sea water. This was an initiative RAF commanders took to try and protect the aircraft and personnel from mortar fire.
