Description
This is a photograph of the medals awarded to Sapper Oliver Phillips of the British Army Royal Engineers for service in WW2, his service book and a photograph of him receiving the Dunkirk medal. He was from Llanelli. Oliver's son Bernard followed him into the Army, when he was conscripted into the Welch Regiment in 1951. Material relating to Bernards service, including his recollections of the Korean War, can be viewed online at the West Wales Veterans Archive on the People’s Collection Wales website
