Military Parade at Pontypool Park

Description

The rugbypitch in Pontypool Park was laid out in 1925 for cricket as well as rugby. This large, flat space soon became the site for many events - from carnivals and fates to Royal visits, and in this instance, a military parade!
It is not clear when this picture was taken - it may have been a Home Guard parade during WW2, although by thenumber of onlookers, it is more likely to have been a special parade after the war.
