Scientific Name:Lepista saeva
Fungi facts:The Field Blewitt as its name suggests is found in lime rich (calcareous) grassland, pastures and parkland. It usually occurs in tight groups with their caps touching and also form ‘Fairy-rings’. They are edible but need to be well cooked beforehand. Some Supermarkets sell them marketed as ‘Blue legs’ which is a mixture of both Field and Wood Blewitt.
