This collection relates to Mrs Elsie Spiller of Pencarreg, Ceredigion. Elsie Robinson joined the Women's Royal Navy WRN in 1962. Whilst a Stewardess in the Wardroom at HMS Collingwood, she met Leading Seaman Alfred Spiller. The couple both left the Navy in 1966 and later married. The couple retired to Wales and ran a small holding at Pencarreg. The collection features an audio recording of an interview with Elsie, an accompanying narrative, photographs and naval documents. This collection has been made possible thanks to The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
